Scott Edward Anderson is the founder of the popular blog, the green skeptic: blogging the new green economy™, is currently developing a green energy investing business, and is the co-founder of the Renewable Energy Business Network's Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
He has over 16 years of experience in non-profit management, most recently as vice president for global development at Ashoka, a social venture capital organization investing in leading social entrepreneurs. Among other accomplishments at Ashoka, Scott developed a $16M partnership with the Gates Foundation to identify innovations in agriculture and rural development in Sub-Saharan Africa and the sub-continent of India.
Prior to joining Ashoka's leadership group, Scott was a director at the Nature Conservancy (TNC), where he was responsible for securing leadership investments in support of global priorities and led a high-level creative marketing team. He also served as a director in three state chapters of the Conservancy: Pennsylvania, Alaska, and New York, and was a member of TNC's global Climate Change and Marine Habitat strategy teams and its Philanthropy Cabinet.
He was part of the first cohort of John Sawhill Conservation Leadership Fellows, and is currently a Senior Fellow with the Environmental Leadership Program (ELP), with whom he co-chaired the “Emerging Leaders, Emerging Solutions” climate change conference held at the NJIT in 2007. He has also served on the advisory board of GreenMicrofinance, LLC.
As a media entrepreneur, Scott has founded both print and online magazines. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as at conferences and workshops around the country, and is a frequent speaker and panelist at such venues as the Aspen Environment Forum, the Salzburg Seminar, and the Global Forum among others. Scott is also an accomplished and award-winning poet with many publications credits and public readings.
