Scott is a project manager, as well as an educator, author and speaker in the field of project management best practices. He is the founder and president of COPLAN AND COMPANY, an Information Technology (IT) acquisition project and change management firm with offices in Seattle and Louisiana. Scott focuses on IT acquisition projects and FOUR, an IT acquisition tool developed and licensed by COPLAN AND COMPANY.
Scott has 30 years experience providing IT project management services involving planning, definition, acquisition and implementation. Scott’s project management success includes transferring a consistent approach for developing and managing projects that achieves strategic organizational objectives. Formerly with Touche Ross, Booz Allen and Hamilton, and Battelle Memorial Institute, Scott holds an MPA from the University of Washington and a BA from Beloit College. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Certified Professional in Healthcare and Management Information Systems (CPHIMS), he is also a member of the IEEE Computer Society, Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), HIMSS Enterprise IS Steering Committee and Project Management Institute. Scott also holds a faculty position at the University of Washington School of Medicine where he teaches project and change management for health care information technology.
