As an contract employee for Boeing I was initially hired to provide expertise to a research and development project seeking to apply the latest commercial software development practices to satellite ground system development. These tasks primarily focused on middleware including messaging and web service evaluations.
Additionally I took responsibility for creating a complete environment for testing and prototype development for the group.
As funding for the research and development project became scarce I was transitioned into a role of development consultant. Currently I am providing technical assistance to a project manager and software architect for an ongoing project resolving performance and usability issues with the Iridium Mission Planning System. A significant part of my role is to perform knowlege capture and provide recommendations for software tools to improve the flexability and reliability of the current Mission Planning System.

January 2003 — November 2006 (3 years 11 months)
As an independent software engineer I have worked on my own or in cooperation with customer teams to create new systems, or rescue ongoing projects.
I have provided a complete web solution for a nationwide lien filing company that was an upgrade to an undocumented, out of date system, and I have provided small special purpose applications related to VoIP usage tracking.
I provide a high level of process at low cost by using web based project management tools. My customers are able to tailor my services to provide the level of documentation and training so that their own staff can maintain and extend projects that have been delivered.
I have extensive domain knowlege in the satellite ground station domain that lends itself to application in high availability, distributed systems. Of late I have focused on web services as a way to provide modular and extensible solutions for distributed problems.
