Works on projects consisting on the development middleware services for interactive television over IP (IPTV). These involve mainly J2EE technology, with persistence support provided by Oracle and PostgreSQL DBMS.
Always interested in Web Application Development (using either JSP and ASP at the frontend). This has been the area of most expertise for several years (including usage of Microsoft technology as well).
Particular interest on the development and coordination of projects related with multimedia content processing, particularly video and automatic generation of interactive interfaces.
Also interested in using technology in the development of several social services in areas like sports, healthcare or tourism.

Taught several subjects more from a laboratory class perspective, namely introduction to programming, data structures and algorithms (all using the Java programming language), database modeling and querying (base engine was Oracle), web applications development and deploying, pattern recognition, operating systems and architecture.
During this period was also responsible for developing, organizing and implementing a set of short technical courses covering areas from web design to productivity tools usage, together with a group of colleagues from the same research workgroup - MaDLabs.
Together with MaDLabs (Multimedia and Database Laboratories), several projects were thought of and put into practice, leading to final major projects for several students, published articles for several conferences and magazines (national and international) within the group's scope of activity.
One of these projects even brought the group a prize from the local Rotary Club.

Volunteered to teach object oriented programming at UNTL (East Timor National University) for a period of two months (equivalent to one semester due to the more intensive number of classes taught during a week).

Consultant and web developer in projects related with public administration (ESF and national Police).
Technology used was mostly microsoft based for the ESF related project (SQLServer 2000, ASP, COM +, VBScript). Visual Interdev was the IDE used for this project.
Oracle Designer was used for the data modeling task.
For the national police project, the developed information system was based in Java technology, mainly J2EE EJBs, JSPs, and a Java based proprietary framework similar to Apache Struts for web application development. DB2 was the chosen DBMS, and the IDE was WSAD.
