Satish Jha’s Summary

In the late 80s there was a "felt need" to create managers of tomorrow who understood the challenges of technology and management and could be what was called the "missing link".

I joined one of the earliest such initiatives that was jointly created by France Telecom, MIT Sloan School, INSEAD, among others. Christened as Theseus MBA after the Greek mythological figure, the program was led by Mel Horwitch who was director of Sloan MBA program before and Charles Wiseman, then known for Strategic Information Systems and late Claudio Ciborra of London School of Economics.

This program paved my way to Roche where I learnt the first steps of managing information resources across the globe and have since contributed to establishing information strategy and its implementation for over 50 organisations of various sizes and complexity.

I have worked in media, telecom, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, utilities, non-profits in Asia, Africa, Europe and the US in various capacities and have mostly been in leadership roles since my early twenties.

I have headed the pharmaceuticals information management practice of James Martin Consulting in New York and have headed James Martin Consulting in India on a full time basis and Meta Group India, Digital Partners India, ehealth-care Foundation etc part time. I also co-founded Baramati Initiatives, Tarahaat, Digital Partners India and helped quite a few ICT for Development projects become finalists at the Stockholm Challenge Award.

More recently I have worked on a number of assignments that have included establishing technology strategy, project management, program management, project portfolio management, advising on business strategy etc.

I am comfortable leading a mid size profit center, managing a technology firm, as a partner of a consulting firm, CIO of a pharmaceutical comany or any other company with global positioning and aspiration to be a leader in its industry.

Satish Jha’s Specialties:

Eighteen years experience in managing information and have been a global head of information management in the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industry, spent over 9 years as a country manager in management consulting in ICTs. I have gone through the whole life cycle of evolving as a profit center head form project management, a CIO function, a CEO and have been successful at delivering on time and within budget as well as growing businesses and positioning them strategically.
