My name is Sarah McTernen and I am a self taught photographic artist from University Place, Washington who specializes in taking the everyday nouns of life and infusing them with interest and awe. I have been creating art for fifteen years with equipment ranging from simple box cameras to much more advanced digital SLR systems. I do not hold fast to a particular subject, but rather shoot the things that call to me, from people to landscapes to everyday still life. I see the world as a very large place filled with very small wonders that are often stepped over. My art is a way for me to take the wonders of the world and show them to the people who could not see them in their everyday life.
Ardent Photography is based out of University Place but serves the greater Western Washington region including Tacoma, Federal Way, Puyallup and Seattle.
I am an on-site photographer, which means I come to you and let the backdrop of your photograph be the important elements in your life. I have found that people let their true personalities shine through when they are in a comfortable setting. This is the idea behind Ardent Photography. I specialize in natural lighting and finding that right moment where "you" shines through.
Beyond portraiture, I enjoy creating unique photographic art pieces and am available for commissioned art assignments. When people think of commissioned photography they think of magazines or portraits, but there is another aspect, personal project photography. This is the area of photography that takes the objects in your life, the guitar you've had since high school, the heirloom broach from Grandma Lorraine, and turns them into personal artistic photographs that can be gladly showcased in any room. I love being presented with a challenge and hope you will give me the opportunity to make the art on your walls unique and personal
I also have webshops on a variety of different Online venues including CafePress, Zazzle, Etsy, and Imagekind.
