Gilbert Corrales’s Summary

Gilbert has over 8 years of experience working across the Americas on research and commercial applications with industry heavy weights like Unisys, Intel, Schematic and most recently with the Research Division of Artinsoft, a Costa Rica based company focused on Automated Programming Language Transformations.

Gilbert started his career early in college as a Lab Operator at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology back in early 2000 from where he moved to intern at Unisys Corp working with the automation of biometric identification documents.

In 2004 and after a year working as a Consultant for a local service company he joined Intel, where he collaborated on the automation of robotic-driven manufacturing processes and co-designed Shrek Fx, a research effort that powers several company-wide web-applications to date.

Later in 2006 Gilbert joined HP and shortly after AvVenta Worldwide where he worked as Technical Project Manager and Software Architect. It was during these years that Gilbert started exploring the arenas of User Driven Design and Interaction Design, areas that he later explored in detailed when he joined the interactive agency Schematic. During his time at this agency, Gilbert served as Senior Solutions Architect where he led projects for clients such as Time Warner, Target and Microsoft, having the opportunity to work with high profile interdisciplinary groups.

Parallel to his professional career Gilbert has taught undergrad courses on Human Computer Interaction and Object Oriented Programming at Cenfotec and Universidad Interamericana. Gilbert has also spoken at several conferences both in US and Latin America, including Adobe MAX.

Currently, Gilbert resides in Seoul, South Korea where he is pursuing his Master Degree with an emphasis in Human Computer Interaction at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology. His main research area is Tangible Web thru Web Semantics.
