I've been a writer and editor for newspapers most of my professional life, but since taking a buyout I'm looking for opportunities that utilize more of my skills and offer a brighter future than the newspaper business. I'm an award-winning humorist, I've cowritten a promotional book about Pittsburgh ("Pittsburgh: Smart City," available on Amazon.com), I've been well-received as a public speaker, have a background in theater and can comfortably read a teleprompter without putting viewers in a coma. My work has appeared in the Toronto Star, the Vancouver Sun, the Montreal Gazette and the Baltimore Sun. I have a smattering of TV and radio experience and would love to do more radio or voiceover work.
I am not afraid of public speaking and have completed a course in voiceover acting. My recent columns at post-gazette.com feature audio versions. I can even sing, though not in a way Simon Cowell would approve of.
