    • The Project was funded by General Motors Powertrain (GMC)
    • Modeled gears with shaft misalignments in Pro/Engineer to predict the stress patterns in gears
    • Developed a Measurement and Data Acquisition System using LabVIEW, data analysis software to measure static and dynamic strain from different gear pairs with profile modifications
    • Performed experiments to measure micro-strain at the root of the gear teeth to investigate the effect of Lead Crown on the bending stresses of helical gears with shaft misalignments
    • Analyzed voluminous number of strain data files using MS-Excel by writing several Macros using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
