I have a broad array of experience in a wide variety of industries. I started my professional career in 1991 as an operations manager for Roadway Express. That business was eventually sold to FedEx and now operates as FedEx Ground.
In 1992 I moved on to my first entrepreneurial experience as a physical fitness trainer. I worked at clubs in New York and Los Angeles assisting people with reaching their fitness goals.
In the fall of 1993 I enlisted in the U.S. Army as an infantryman. I eventually attended and graduated from U.S. Army Officer Candidate School in class 2-95. I went on to serve as an Armor officer with the 1st Armored Division in Germany. I served in Germany as a Tank Platoon Leader and Tank Company Executive Officer. During my time in the military I also successfully completed the Armor Officer Basic Course, Airborne School and the Scout Platoon Leader Course. I separated from active duty service in the spring of 1998.
From 1998 to 1999 I worked as a systems analyst for Andersen Consulting. I was involved in the design, development and management of tax systems for government agencies.
In the fall of 1999 I began working as a consultant in the competitive electricity industry with a firm called Structure Consulting Group. Over the next seven and a half years I gained great knowledge of electricity markets, software development and technology services in a variety of positions. For the last three years I served in an innovative role known as Market Intelligence, developing commanding industry knowledge and operating in between our software group, clients and the market in general.
In the fall of 2007 I continued to expand upon my electricity market expertise by taking on a position in the Strategic & Business Planning group at the New York Independent System Operator.
