  • Senior Software Engineer

    Unify

(Public Company; UFYC; Computer Software industry)

    2008Present (1 year)

At Unify I am part of a team maintaining a 4GL development tool written in C and C++ that Unify acquired when they purchased Gupta Software. My primary focus is on the so-called "router" layer, which is actually a database API and a set of drivers targeting SQLBase, Oracle via native OCI, ODBC, OLEDB, native sybase, native Informix, and others.

My current off hours and weekend projects are several early-stage web applications written in Ruby on Rails, so needless to say I'm getting steeped in Prototype and Scriptaculous as well. Did I say fat clients stunk? I never said that. Well, OK, maybe I did, but when I was saying it so was everyone else, now we've all had a sea change.
