Dr. Randy Yerrick is a teacher and researcher at the State University of New York where he serves as a professor of science education and a Associate Dean for Educational Technology. Dr. Yerrick's life work has been devoted to improving science teaching, especially for children who are underserved by today's schools. He spends much of his time teaching children in k - 12 contexts and coordinates his university courses and school collaborations so that preservice teachers can spend time with him in the field observing and participating in his science lessons for children. As a PASCO Technology Educator and Apple Distinguished Educator he shares some of his work and teaching through published exhibits at the Apple Learning Interchange as he uses technologies such as data acquisition tools, digital microscopes, and data analysis tools, simulation software, digital video and photography in science classes to make science learning more meaningful and engaging for children.
