As the State Journal's Mobile Journalist, I wear all those hats, often simultaneously and while on the move. I write everything from enterprise stories to quick-hit news briefs for online and print. I shoot about two to three videos a week, and I shoot the occasional photo assignment when the photo desk is swamped. Some of my photos have made 1A. I've produced in-depth video packages, one about an innocent man freed from prison and another about neighborhoods springing back to life after they were shaken by homicides. I also produce the occasional audio slideshow.
I've trained coworkers in shooting/editing video and other digital storytelling techniques. Generally I'm the person pitching multimedia ideas in the metro staff meetings. -

- The majority of my time at Kent State was spent working as a staff member of the campus newspaper, the Daily Kent Stater. I was editor in chief the spring semester of my junior year. During my time at the Stater I was also a reporter, news editor and Web editor.
