Saskatchewan, Canada
In 1994, Ryan Lejbak worked as a Rocket Scientist for NASA at the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral Florida. Due to funding cutbacks, he was re-assigned to the Gift Shop, Christmas ornament section. He resigned his position and then partnered with Al Gore to invent the Internet. After a falling out over the use of the .edu extension, Ryan moved to Saskatoon and started zu.com communications, a leading interactive media firm employing over 35 people.
Currently Ryan is the CEO at zu.com communications. His main job is to walk around the office and show everyone his email from Sara of Tegan and Sara. He also is responsible for preparing the FIFA World Cup Finals draw.
Ryan captains the zu crew while they use advanced interactive technology to create better new media, mobile, and web-based experiences for their clients. zu.com is a recognized world leader in IR web sites.
Ryan represents Saskatchewan Interactive on the Cultural Human Resource Council’s New Media Steering Committee and is a past Board Member of the Canadian Interactive Alliance/Alliance Interactive Canadienne. Ryan has sat on the Board of SaskInteractive for eight years. He has been spotted at most new media conferences in Canada and the US over the past several years.
Ryan has a Bachelor of Science, a Kelly and two cats. He uses a Mac, plays guitar in HoneyBlu and saves orca whales in his spare time. Really.
