The CDTA is the primary liaison for long term strategy, policy implementation, and development between volunteers, donors, and trail advocacy groups, and the federal land management agencies and private land managers responsible for the land through which the Continental Divide Trail travels. The primary role of the Board of Directors is to ensure that the mission of the CDTA is executed, and done so with integrity. In addition, it is a key burden of responsibility of the CDTA Board of Directors to direct and implement the strategy responsible for ensuring the long term sustainability of the CDTA, including but not limited to, the fundraising required to ensure development, completion, and maintenance of the CDT.
