Ryan has over 10 years of experience in the design of consumer Internet applications. An expert in user-centered design methodologies, Ryan frequently consults startups on how to design products that better meet the needs of their customers. A founding member of the PayPal design and user research group, Ryan was instrumental in the strategic design of PayPal's merchant services and played a key role in defining the customer experience for many of PayPal's most successful products from 2000-2005. Ryan created the field studies program at PayPal in 2002 and traveled internationally conducting research inside the offices and homes of small business owners. In 2006, Ryan founded HourTown (www.hourtown.com), an online appointment system for small businesses. Currently, Ryan divides his time between his own entrepreneurial ventures and consulting with a select group of Silicon Valley startups, investors and non-profit organizations. Ryan resides in Palo Alto, California.
