I like to live at the crux of things.
I love to find people who are climbing. Working on a hard pitch and are at the crux of the climb. Sometimes we get stuck right at the crux of things, we get tired, pissed off, and often it's someone elses problem that we're here (but not always!). Sometimes decisions feel like a crux (in fact, when we are in the flow of things, we don't make decisions, they just happen, tough decisions stop us, keeping us out of the flow of life).
I help people move past whatever is the crux for them.
(Educational Institution; Higher Education industry)
September 2000 — Present (9 years 3 months)
I teach a small seminar style course to give students a real world experience in managing money within the finance industry. Students manage a portfolio of approximately $180,000 for the CFA Society of Portland (CFASP), and $50,000 for the DA Davidson Company. Over the quarter students in the course become familiar with the S&P 500, evaluate existing security investments, create security selection criteria, analyze and recommend potential investments, make investments, and prepare the reports required to meet investment policy standards.
