I completed Library School in 1988. Since then I've worked as the head of several medical and psychiatric libraries. Co-founder of the Central Catalogue of Hospital Libraries (CCZ) in the Netherlands and former chair of the Dutch Medical Library Association (NVB/BMI).
In 1998 I became general manager of EBSCO the Netherlands. Since 2001 I work as a library consultant for Ingressus.
During my career I followed several courses in medical librarianship, attended several (EAHIL) conferences and workshops. I am stimulated and motivated by sharing ideas, experiences and knowledge with other library professionals.
I am married to Erna and we have two kids, Rens (1997) and Silke (1999).

I am a trained and graduated librarian. As library consultant I mainly focus on the medical and educational libraries. ur company is a service organization which helps and supports librarians by doing projects, detaching librarians etc.
Ingressus is the official trainingpartner for OCLC and we are the authorized reseller of:
- Hidden Automatic Navigator (HAN) software made by H+H Software GmbH.
- (Fulltext) databases from ProQuest CSA and
- ERM solutions like 360 LINK and 360 Search from Serials Solutions.

In 1998 I was asked to become general manager of EBSCO Information Services the Netherlands. My office was responsible for the subscription and database services for customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and some UN customers in Switzerland.

As head of the medical library of the Sophia Hospital in Zwolle, I became the head of all medical libraries after the merger of all hospitals and other care facilities. During this period I fullfilled many positions in taskforces within the hospital but also in the professional organizations of medical librarians in the Netherlands. In the beginning we worked very hard on the central union catalog for Dutch hospital as I was one of the co-founders of the so called CCZ. After I few year I was elected chair of the Dutch Medical Library Association. (When I went to EBSCO I gave up this position).
After being co-author for some EAHIL presentations. The EAHIL conference in Utrecht 1998 was the first one I attended.

Formerly known as "De Wellen" a psychiatric hospital in Apeldoorn. Librarian of a scientific psychiatric hospital library aimed at psychiatry, psychology and therapeutics. In this position, I was the first librarian from a psychiatric hospital to join the so called STRIX working force. One of the co-founders of the CCZ, the Dutch Central Catalogue of Hospital Libraries.
