A proud member of the Xbox One Ship team, my role involves driving the experience content/design and delivery of key features for Xbox One, working creatively and collaboratively with the UX/UI design team as well as multiple technical and business groups.
Currently I am in charge of defining and producing content and shaping experiences for new and existing Xbox One customers.
My projects include:
• The next generation of the digital out of box experience(DOOBE) for global markets
• New customer orientation, content, UX flow and producing the "getting the most out of Xbox One" area
• Getting customers to join Xbox Live Gold membership and stay engaged with the service
Assembled and managed a creative team of 25+ focused on the concept creation, design, and production of next-generation digital products for Amazon. Assisted the UX and Visual Teams in developing all needed flows, wireframes, motion and production assets.
Drive the creative and technical creation of multi-million dollar, high end advertising campaigns, on the Xbox Live Service. Managing the development of the content and experiences while overseeing a studio team of designers and developers to deliver award winning experiences on the Xbox console and other platforms
Managed a 20+ member team in the Design Studio, responsible for creating daily content and experiences and projects on the Xbox 360 Dashboard, Xbox.com and Xbox Live Mobile. Content and Experiences are developed as trans-media campaigns designed to deliver and exceed performance targets. Programs under my creative leadership and management generated $10+ million in additional revenue for the company.
Founding member of the XboxLive Apps team. Drove design and production of the new Facebook social app into the Xbox 360 system. Developed the new feature as part of the Reno team, which also shipped Last.fm and Twitter on Xbox Live. Partnered with the Facebook team to define the new Xbox360 experience, coordinating all related efforts among the Reno Dev, Test and Design team.
Partnered on building the core principles, content plans, experiences and product foundation for the Kinect family of products, plus a number of other next-generation "stealth" product incubation efforts. Formed a small, nimble team of designers, producers, and developers tasked with exploring new content , software and hardware concepts, building prototypes, and creating business plans for monetizing the new technologies.
Led the UI design and launch of software/hardware for the Zune audio player, including Zune and Xbox Special Edition Products. Managed a core team of Interaction Program Managers and Artists. Formed a new business group, the Specials Production Group, to conceive and ship seasonal editions of Zune and Xbox products. Held responsibility for product development with yearly budgets of $200M. Worked on a cross-functional basis with the company's Industrial Design, Marketing, and Manufacturing groups.
Managed a team of 35+ internal and external UI designers, artists and vendors in the conception and shipment of Xbox 360, an international game console and live service. Oversaw a $2.5M+ yearly budget. Led the product's packaging, software UI, web design, industrial design and localization components. Guided the ongoing creative, strategic and product development elements for all software UI design related to the entire Xbox 360 production line.
Managed a team of 20+ in the development and shipment of the online user experience for the Emmy-awarded Xbox Live gaming service. Live is an international broadband gaming service launched in North America, Europe and Asia. Worked with 15 Live enabled titles (e.g. Unreal Championship, Halo, NFL 2K3) to integrate the online UI experience. Managed the launch of Xbox.com, an international website, in 9 separate languages.
Managed the production team in shipping 50+ games and activities for this premiere destination and entertainment brand. Led content development and groups responsible for developing, designing, and launching extensive amounts of interactive content -- with the teams (internal and 3rd party) comprised of artists, game designers, producers, and programmers. Projects were developed utilizing C++, Java, Java Script, JSP, HTML, XML, Flash and Shockwave. Scope of authority included both creative oversight of all product development efforts, as well as ownership of budgeting and schedule management.
Gazoontite’s website offered deep content linked to an e-commerce store of 1000+ products. Managed a blended team of both internal staff and 3rd party vendors spanning a wide range of creative and technical disciplines. These teams developed the content & experiences and maintained all web-based articles, interactive tools, and web stations, as well as all video projects and infomercials. Projects were tracked and managed with MS Project, Excel and Visio.
Executive Producer for this broadband interactive learning network. Hired a 30+ member team of producers, programmers and artists that developed all programs for the company. Drove the concept and content development and managed a $12M annual budget allocated to produce all needed programs, which contained interactive video, games, activities and user assessments.
Served as creative director for this boutique design firm, managing a variety of teams, both creative and technical, in the concept, content, design and production of hundreds of interactive products: games, websites and video across multiple industries. Consistently delivered compelling projects on time and on budget to clients such as: Microsoft, Adobe, America Online, Smithsonian, Phillips Interactive and Harper Collins.

Attempting to navigate through options in a media player can be confusing in that users do not know how far into the menu thy have gone. As well, user customized backgrounds can wash out standard colors for menus. The invention is a system of altering the visibility of a background image behind a menu of options so that the user can determine their depth and location in the series of menus and sub-menus.
