Mike Rouse’s Summary
Since around 1998 I have been continuously developing skills in web development from HTML and CSS to MySQL, PHP and more recently Ruby on Rails. I am a keen freelancer with a range of interests that deploy these skills from political web design services to contracting for large blue chip companies and public organisations from Peugeot Motor Company to the Learning & Skills Council.
From late 2006 until early 2008 I was based with 18 Doughty Street Talk TV, Britain's first internet-based full broadcaster. We developed a range of current affairs programming and broadcast 5 hours per night over 5 days in a week. It was a tough schedule with many mission critical challenges from online advertisments to router repair and troubleshooting.
In 2007, as part of my work for 18 Doughty Street TV and the wider political marketplace I was shortlisted for an award by the New Statesman magazine in the Young Innovator category.
More recently I have consulted for Peugeot Motor Company in the UK and Total Politics magazine in addition to a range of other customers for web services including Members of Parliament.
