Internet Marketing Specialist at The Employment Guide
Charlotte, North Carolina Area
I received my degree in Photo Illustration from Kent State University which drove my passion for good creative and design. Through an internship with a local commercial photographer, I found the door into the world of recruitment advertising. During my time at The David Group, I learned about branding and its importance in advertising and marketing especially in the human resources departments. I started out in project management, making sure our creative met deadlines and was delivered to appropriate vendors. My passion for online media grew when I was transferred to the Internet Department, managing all online recruitment ads.
Currently, I work with The Employment Guide, part of Dominion Enterprises, in the district office that services all of North and South Carolina. Here I search engine optimize employers' job postings for better search results and assist in online community management by writing for our area blogs including those for Charlotte, Columbia, Charleston, Greenville and Atlanta. In my position I also aide in implementing local marketing efforts for our own local events, as well as consult employers wishing to advertise online and in print.
Outside of my 9-5, I am the Web Content Manager for Women of Charlotte, an online social networking community for women in the Charlotte area. I also have taken on an Administrative Editor role for CLTblog.com. There I help with content management by approving comments, updating twitter account, adding and editing calendar events, and anything else that is needed.
Most recently, I attended Startup Weekend in Raleigh, NC and there co-founded Scavenja, an online photo scavenger hunt game. Most of my duties to date have involved social media marketing and accrual of sponsorships.
I am a social media enthusiast and enjoy being a part of a dynamic community both online and off.
