I loved taking sign language and therapeutic recreation on campus and eating at the Abbey. The music was so loud, but it felt good. And the best thing about sign language, I learned there. You can talk with your mouth full! giggle I went to their performance of Children of a Lesser God at least 6 times to try and learn to sign better. They did a wonderful job. The translators stood on the site and spoke English!
I also volunteered as the Co-Chair of the Volleyball Competition for the DC Special Olympics 3 years. We had practice every week and volunteer training, in addition to the actual Summer Games, at Gallaudet.
It's a beautiful campus! -
