Analyzed advertising production efficiency for print and broadcast media; identified and implemented improved tracking methods; provided research and initial planning for GM as an early adopter of the interactive Ad-ID process for tracking and reporting on all production and media spending.
Working with the AAAA and ANA trade organizations, advised on ad efficiency to GM brand team senior management, their ad agencies and GM Planworks. Developed reporting guidelines, advised on the formation of new business processes, and communicated process requirements to all levels.

Managed business processes for graphic and interactive design, publishing, printing and photo services in the Detroit region. Established first in-house interactive design team to work on the integration of sound design principles and technical web expertise. Brought under-achieving section from a $900K annual deficit to profitability within 18 months.
Based on these positive results, was given Process Manager responsibility for the $22-million-plus graphic and interactive design, print and photo services operations in Southeast Michigan, which included facilities and personnel in Detroit, Warren, Pontiac, Milford and Grand Blanc.

Managed the design and production of SEC-regulated financial documents with important public relations use, such as the GM Annual Report. Also produced other publications targeting special constituencies, overseeing design and final production/distribution.
Wrote and edited award-winning articles for GM publications. Designed and produced materials for GM special events such as the GM Cancer Foundation. Wrote, designed and produced public relations materials used during GM's sponsorship of the World Cup.

MBA program included several weeks of travel to Japan and The People's Republic of China. I met with a variety of industry professionals in both countries, discussing respective attitudes toward business communications and marketing.
BA , Commercial Design , 1966 — 1970
Attended Monteith College, the former honors college within WSU, majoring in Advertising and Commercial Design. Earned sufficient credits for a choice of either a BA or BPh degree.
