Ron has extensive experience working in the sports business industry since 1986.
Prior to forming The Telios Group in 2003, Ron held key marketing, sales and consulting positions with the NBA, WNBA, and four university athletic programs (Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Winona State). In addition, Ron has worked at 10 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classics, one year with the U.S. Ski Team, and served two years as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Tennessee.
Ron has been a long-standing member of the American Marketing Association and the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators.
Ron enjoys being involved in the community, having served on the South Jordan (UT) Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Boys & Girls Clubs (TN), the Ronald McDonald House (TN), and Special Olympics Utah.
Ron has received a number of honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America, including two “Best in the Nation” media guide citations, and is the first-ever Winona State student to receive the Minnesota Press Club’s Edward P. Schwartz Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to a Minnesota college journalism student.
Ron earned a graduate assistantship at the University of Tennessee, working in the women's athletics department while pursuing a Master’s in sports administration and management. While at UT (1988-90 & 1997-00), he was part of 4 National Championships – 3 in women’s basketball (1989, 1998, 1999), and 1 in football (1998).
Ron, who was a member of the football and track and field teams at Winona State, earned bachelor degrees in Journalism and Public Relations.
Ron is active in his children's activities, enjoys reading, writing, family trips, and running. Ron fulfilled two of his lifelong dreams of running in a full and half marathon when he completed each in 2006 and 2008.
