Singer-Songwriter
Austin, Texas Area
I am a Singer-songwriter in the Austin, Texas area and some have said that songwriting is in my blood - as if there is a songwriting gene (My older brothers are Bruce & Charlie Robison btw). But I think it comes from somewhere so much deeper - like mental illness. HA!
My debut cd "For So Long" was released in 2005 - produced by 'king of quirk' Danny Barnes - garnered enormously impressive reviews from publications such as No Depression Magazine, The Americana Magazine, Texas Monthly Magazine, Austin Chronicle, and earned key showcases in SXSW 2006 as well as the 2006 Austin City Limits Music Festival. My follow up cd of originals (Too Much Desire) is due to be released in April 2008 and features guest appearances by the Robison Boys as well as Eliza Gilkyson.
I have entered the Nashville songwriters circuit recently - no publishing deal yet; however, meetings with Carnival, Hori-Pro, Crossfire3, and Malaco have perked up ears. I will be making quarterly visits - mostly for co-writes and showcases. With the gender lop-sided songwriting pool in Nashville - I stand on the strength of writing a great chick song.
Please look for my new cd Too Much Desire featured in the last issue (May/June 2008) issue of No Depression, I am so sad that they are ceasing printing...I just recently taped interviews for two nationally syndicated programs aired on KUT/NPR (Texas Music Matters and On the Record) hosted by David Brown.
