Currently seeking a long-term, full-time permanent position in the Software Engineering, Quality Assurance and System/Network Security fields. I have a very broad and diverse background across a wide range of platforms, operating systems, programming languages, design and development methodologies, etc.
A seasoned high-tech industry engineer, with 15+ years of software development, Web server and site design, implementation and testing, and hardware installation and support. Strong technical skills and ability to pick up new technologies based on business and customer needs, with a wide variety of past experience. Coding emphasis on simplicity, robustness, readability, adaptability and maintainability. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong attention to detail & belief in teamwork.
I have extensive programming experience in PHP, Perl, C, and almost every UNIX/Linux shell scripting language, with some experience in C# / .NET, Java / J2EE, C++, Python, as well as many others as listed on my resume. My graduate work focused in part on highly-available, fault-tolerant redundant systems, so I am well-versed in enterprise-level scalable “always available” system architecture both in theory and practice. During my last full-time position with Pheedo, I helped plan, build and manage the growth of the company from a single hosted server to a company-owned, load-balanced server cluster with multiple redundant database and Web servers, as well as the introduction of separate development, testing, source control and backup systems, all in the course of under a year.
I have worked with several Design Pattern methodologies as well as both Booch and Yourdon Object-Oriented Design, and UML.
