Independent Journalist & Editor
Japan
As a journalist I generally cover business, society and travel in Japan, although I'm always open to covering new fields. To date I've been published in over 30 print and online publications in Japan and overseas. I currently serve as a freelance correspondent for eFinancialCareers as well as being a regular contributor to several other outlets in and outside Japan. I've been based in Tokyo since 1999 and freelancing since 2005.
Notable recent clients include Lexus Magazine, J-Select, eFinancialCareers, Insight Guides (Asia's Best Hotels and Resorts 2007), Northstar Travel Media, TripSketch, Silkroad (Dragonair), Changhi Class, Eye-Ai, and Voyageur. For a fuller list of publications and samples, please visit www.tokyofreelance.com.
My editorial work has included editing Japan-related non-fiction, newspaper and magazine copy editing, and corporate editing. I'm currently the editor of the Hiragana Times, a bilingual magazine based in Tokyo with a circulation of 70,000.
