The HTRT has been trained to rescue victims trapped on ice, in swift water and dive rescue & recovery incidents. Additionally, the team utilizes extensive rope and rigging experience to rescue victims in ravines or other places inaccessible to fire service ladders. Other treacherous situations include high towers (such as radio and cell towers), confined spaces, trenches & excavation collapses. The team has also been trained in hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and structural collapse.

The HTRT is registered with Federal, State and County emergency response agencies.
