Launched this startup company, managing all aspects, including IT, finance and budgets, and sales and marketing. Directly responsible for creating strategic business development and roll out plans based on product and market intelligence. Has three direct reports.
• Created the concept of the products, a water usage monitor and radio-frequency identification devices for horses, worked with technical personnel to implement them and found key people to design and test the products. Built the initial prototypes and applied for a patent.
• Cultivated a relationship with Polar Heart Monitor products in the United States and Switzerland, and with the product marketing people at the factory. Also, worked directly with the US distributor of the products. Efforts increased market visibility and permitted access to advanced technical information.
• Developed relationships with key trainers in the Thoroughbred racing world, convincing them to test the product by relaying its benefits.

Recruited to build the company, help the CEO raise money, define and implement the company’s technical needs and build partnerships within the industry.
• Became extremely knowledgeable about insurance by learning all the intricacies related buying and selling insurance policies, by studying the industry, attending industry meetings, gathering information and talking with industry leaders.
• Created a demo to present to key investors during due diligence. Located and worked with a web development company, and built the demo despite having a very small budget. Product became the first of its type to be built.
• Guided the CEO, who had never run a business, through the process of building a successful company.

• Gained credibility with doctors and research centers, by developing relationships with doctors, the medical staff at San Jose State University and the San Francisco 49’ers.
• Developed a viable business plan, where the ideas are still used today as the company has changed direction, becoming a software company.

• Designed a top-of-the-line recruitment package and employee benefits plan, resulting in the creation of world-class management and IT teams, including 70+ personnel with backgrounds from HP, Intel and Sun.
• Provisioned and implemented the development of service provider models utilized in effective marketing campaigns.

Hired to oversee the introduction and management of the Rapid City Communications Inc. Operations Department, including Manufacturing, Customer Support, Facilities, and MIS groups.
• Supported product development, from inception to engineering, testing, and final release, integrating it into the Santa Clara Bay Networks division.
• Implemented a successful launch, shipping over $200 million in product within six months.
• Performed due diligence with Bay Networks prior to being acquired by Nortel Networks.

• Introduced an innovative customer satisfaction system, resulting in successful completion with EMC, HP, Sun, DEC, Compaq and IBM.
• Negotiated supply chain partnerships with high-profile manufacturers such as Solectron, Seagate, and Fuji Hi-tech.
