It was really wonderful to see them blossom when they finally decided they wanted to get clean. It could be really depression when they did not respond to any kind of therapy.

I created a nonprofit 501c3 corporation. I was the founding member and Vice President of Operations and Club Manager of the Just for Today Club house. We rented meeting spaces for the 12 step recovery meetings. I hand selected the initial Board of Directors, I filled out and signed all the governmental and business forms for the creation and operation of the business for the first two years of its existence. After the first two years the business had created its own user base, which I turned over the operation over to. It was a real blessing to be able to help create and manage this business and watch the people we helped take over the day to day running of the business and to watch them also take over the board of directors. This non profit is still running 15 years later.

I took care of two or three developmentally disabled adult males in a live-in residential setting during a 2 1/2 day shift. I help them get up, got them their medications and helped them get dressed for the day, fed them breakfast, helped them catch the bus to work, I then cleaned and maintained the house and did the shopping, when they returned from work I gave them their afternoon medications, helped them fix supper, helped them cleanup afterwards. later in the evening I encouraged them to take their baths and then at bed time I gave them their bedtime medications and put them to bed. On their days off we went in the the public and visited malls, theaters, parks, museums and the zoo for their entertainment and to improve their socialization skills. I truly enjoyed watching the guys improve and better themselves in their home life, their work life, and in their behavior in public.
