Since graduating from the Sloan School at MIT, Robert Klimm has been a leader in high tech development and manufacturing. Prior to forming Strategic Edge, LLC, Mr. Klimm was Vice President and General Manager of Power and Reactive Gas Products within MKS Instruments. During his tenure he led the analysis of several acquisition candidates and successfully integrated the two largest MKS acquisitions. Through product innovation and market penetration he grew these business units from $120M to over $300M – establishing MKS as the world leader in remote plasma sources for the semiconductor industry.
Prior to MKS, Mr. Klimm served as Vice President and General Manager of PRI’s Factory Systems Division. Prior to PRI, Mr. Klimm served as General Manager of the Implant Systems Division of Eaton Corporation (now Axcelis Technologies). As a member of the board of directors for Sumitomo Eaton Nova (Joint Venture), he forged a strong international partnership leading to collaborative product definition / development and market leadership in the implant market. Over his seven years at Eaton, he was instrumental in developing the product marketing function, formalizing the product development process, implementing cellular manufacturing and growing the business to over $450M.
Prior to Eaton, Mr. Klimm held Marketing, Engineering and Operations leadership positions at BTU International, Analog Devices and in the US Air Force. His education includes a BSEE from Lehigh University, an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and an MSEE from Northeastern University.
