Senior Architect, Emerging Technologies at Nokia
San Francisco Bay Area
I have been working in the software industry for the past 18 years. Much of this experience is in the design and implementation of embedded software, consumer electronics, and telecommunications systems.
I am deeply technical, but also extremely adept at technical partner relationship management, customer interactions (requirements gathering, proposal and specification writing, etc.) I also have a good deal of experience working with and managing offshore technical teams. I have specific experience building and coaching teams in China and India.
My ideal job is a combination of software architect and relationship management.
In addition, I have the following skills:
Developer Evangelist:
In addition to developing embedded software, I have worked for 5 years as a developer evangelist. As a Microsoft MVP from 2001-2006, I participated in online forums and phone conferences with the Windows Mobile and CE developer communities. I have given technology demonstrations and talks at user group meetings company sponsored product launches and other events. As an MVP I have attended product review meetings, had input into improving developer tools, and kept abreast of current technology and industry trends.
Teaching and Training:
I have formal experience training software developers in the use of programming languages and embedded technologies. I have given training courses at Microsoft on Windows CE programming and COM / ATL programming. I have taught courses to Microsoft employees with all materials, including slides, course notebooks, and extensive sample programs, developed by me.
