A few years back, I became tired of the boring big digital agency grind, and opted to bring my deep digital experience to the realm of branded entertainment and content. Have worked on the digital programs for dozens of large consumer goods brands, it became very clear that a brand's site, blog, social media activity, etc was nothing without compelling content. Aside from that, I did not want to manage a team of 85 people at age 29 - I could do that when I was 40. There was innovation to be done. Envelopes to be pushed. Barriers to be broken. [insert cliche here]. So I went to work for many of those same brands, but from a different agency perspective. A move that has definitely paid off as far as career satisfaction goes, and I am pretty sure the brands appreciate me more in my new role on their team.
Now I am focused on driving business results for brands by doing things exactly the opposite way anyone else on LinkedIn would do it.
