Charlotte, North Carolina Area
I am currently the Director of Community for Sports Media Challenge. The job affords me the opportunity to use my experience with social technologies to create marketing strategies for athletes, Division I programs, and other sports industry brands.
I am extremely passionate about both marketing and helping people. I believe in the power of web 2.0 and its ability to cultivate conversations, relationships and the spread of ideas.
I've consulted with brands such as Apple, OfficeMax, and HEB Grocery
I have also gained valuable entrepreneurship experience working with Oates Specialties, one of the foremost suppliers of innovative training devices for athletes, particularly the consummate pitcher.
Additionally, I have done work with respect to various aspects of online marketing including blogging, social media, web 2.0, search engine optimization, niche marketing, affiliate marketing, copywriting, and basic web design.
I am especially interested in opportunities with respect to social media, interactive strategy and community evangelism, but am generally passionate about and interested in anything marketing related.

As the Director of Community for SMC I lead the activation of the Sports Media Challenge brand online through our corporate blog, and participating in industry-wide conversations. I also play an integral role in developing and activating intricate web 2.0 strategies for sports, entertainment and lifestyle brands. Two of the brands I work with most extensively are ESPN Events and Syndication, and Conference USA.
As an analyst I monitor buzz for athletes, Division I athletic programs, and other sports industry companies. I utilize this buzz to diagnose points of emphasis and deliver weekly reports and recommendations to our clients. Often times we leverage these recommendations to build and create social media marketing strategies enabling sports brands to join the conversations their fans are already having online.
