I'm Rui Lopes and I'm a researcher at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, at the Human Computer Interaction and Multimedia Research Team (HCIM), part of the LaSIGE research laboratory. Currently I'm working on my PhD on Web Interaction Environments. My thesis and current research line is geared towards Web Science topics (i.e., scientifically studying the Web) with a strong focus on accessibility and usability.
My research work also focuses on emerging Web technologies, their applications and architectures, mostly on usability concerns. I'm also an invited expert for the W3C XML Processing Model Working Group. In the past I've worked on hypermedia processing, Digital Talking Books production, and Web-based multimedia databases. Within these research topics, I've finished my MSc with a dissertation entitled "Time-based Hypermedia Processing and Pattern System".
