Since joining Ironworks in July 2005, Rick has worked on Web strategy with such clients as the American Cancer Society, American College of Physicians, American Institute of Architects, School Nutrition Association, ISACA, The Nature Conservancy, National Wildlife Federation, Discovery Education, Dominion Resources NASDAQ, and the Veterans Health Administration.
Rick served in an executive capacity with the American Diabetes Association from 1991 to June 2005, most recently as National Vice President, Constituent Relations. With more than 25 years of management experience in nonprofit organizations, he has worked for the American Lung Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Natural Resources Council of Maine. The American Society of Association Executives has awarded him the prestigious Certified Association Executive (CAE) certification.
He has also served in volunteer leadership roles with several charitable organizations including President of the Board of Directors for the following: New England Health Education Association, Bangor-Brewer TB & Health Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kennebec Valley and the Old Bridge Estates Community Association. He recently served a 2-year term as Treasurer for the Central Virginia Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Rick is often asked to present at conferences including the DigitalNow Conference at Walt Disney World, Association Technology Conference, ASAE and the Center for Association Leadership, Gilbane Conference in DC, Virginia Society of Association Executives, Direct Marketing Association of Greater Washington, N-Ten, and the Virginia Gift Planners Association, among others.
