PhD Student at Technical University of Denmark
Copenhagen Area, Denmark
I graduated as a Biological Engineer (MSc.) from Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal) in October 2007. As part of my studies, I was an exchange student (Fall 05-Spring 06) and developed my MSc. thesis (Spring 07) at the Technical University of Denmark. The thesis focused on the development of microbioreactors for continuous yeast cultivations.
During the 2008 (Feb to Dec) I worked as a Trainee Business and Technology Consultant for a Portuguese Consultancy Firm (SPI). I work both in the headquarters in Porto, Portugal and at SPI USA - Irvine in California.
In 2009, I (re)-relocated to Copenhagen, Denmark. I am now developing a project on topology optimization of microbioreactors which will be concluded in October 2009. I will continue then for a PhD on Population Based Models integrated with Computerized Fluid Dynamics Models for studying inhomogeneities in bioreactors.
The PhD is to be concluded in 2012.
