Risa co-founded Indyish.com with Elran Oded in December 2005 and continues to work with the growing Indyish team on developing that network of independent artists with events on the web and in the world, including the Monthly Mess: a traveling indie arts showcase. Risa's master thesis, on open source in relation to communications theory and history, will be released internationally as a book under the title "No One Knows Everything: Open Source and the Crisis in Public Opinion" in spring 2008. Her goal is to continue developing useful networks for Indyish artists, and writing, researching and making art with collaborators.

Indyish is a network for Independent Artists. We are fully self funded, growing and kicking with help from supportive volunteers, the artists involved, and far flung well wishers.
I co-founded the site, and continue to provide artistic direction for the site's development and for our collective projects.

Elran and I, freelancing as Touchbasic, worked closely with Serah to develop a website that would compliment her aesthetic and long term goals for Worn Journal.
Together we also developed LivingLightly.ca, Actaeonphoto.com and Indyish.

Writing book reviews, features, and editing articles are my primary tasks here. Occasionally I can also be found modeling and styling shoots for this revolutionary, independent, feminist fashion journal.

I was the English language and taxonomy consultant during Yellowpages.ca revamp for beta stage. Then tested the live search engine to make observations and recommendations for the next stages of improving the search. Developed first hand understanding of the complexity of information organization in a large scale proprietary directory, and of the challenges to communication and change in an international corporation.
