Competition is now harder than ever and the challenges to survive great. So I am convinced that for the engineering industry there is no other option: calculated risks with new technologies need to be taken and the way things have been done must be challenged.
Preparing your company for “intelligent” wireless sensor technology:
• Comprehensive technology and strategic analysis
• Integration of “intelligent” sensor technology into established products
• Entering of new markets by differentiating products with “intelligent” sensors
• Design of new “intelligent” products

February 2009 — Present (10 months)
Cogisen was established in February 2009. It is one of the very first companies within the engineering industries to focus its niche expertise on putting the “intelligence” into wireless sensor networks.
The core discipline of Cogisen is in vehicle dynamics applications of “intelligent” sensors (such as race cars, test benches, vehicle prototypes and simulators).
This same expertise can be applied within diverse engineering fields, for example “intelligent” infrastructure, advanced prosthetics, energy and emissions. Many non-traditional companies (such as the gaming industry) can be helped to enter engineering on the back of this technology.
(Management Consulting industry)
April 2005 — January 2009 (3 years 10 months)
- Concept design and technology roadmapping as a consultant for engineering products which integrate many disciplines (electronics, aerodynamics, composites, manufacturing, telematics, software, etc)
- Assisting in the development and refinement of an advanced new race car simulator for A1GP.
- Lead engineer for MP Motorsport within Formula Renault 2.0.
(Privately Held; 1001-5000 employees; Automotive industry)
March 2002 — March 2005 (3 years 1 month)
- Technical reference for Vehicle Dynamics at each race, helping to solve set-up issues, handling problems, strategy choices, tire choice, etc
- Directly worked with the renowned Ferrari engineers, designers and managers
- Pushed hard to improve team efficiency: improved quality of telemetry, automated analysis, “virtual garage” for following races from the factory, integrated database package for all data, etc
- Development of new analysis methods and simulations: vehicle health management and prognostics, simulation to optimize damper settings, dynamic braking simulation, etc
- Investigations into the root causes of suspension, tire or component failures
- analysis of vehicle characteristics and problems using a K&C rig, 7-poster rig, single corner portable rigs, R&D stiffness measurements, etc
- Integrated electronics for clutch, differential, traction control, braking, start
