I work in the fields of performance production, audio engineering, studio recording and event planning and management. I've engineered/produced everything from opera to punk rock bands. This Includes 14 years on the road with various bands including the Butthole Surfers, Widespread Panic and Scatterbrain.
I teach Live Sounds for the SAE Institute of Technology Atlanta campus and I'm a Learning Advisor for two courses for live audio engineers at SAE OnLine.
Some recent live mixing gigs include R.E.M. at their 2007 GMHF induction, The Athena Opera company's production of "The Mikado", mixing WUGA's sponsored, "Athens 441--Live from the Morton Theater" radio series as well as many other live gigs. I'm currently the Production Manager for the Georgia Theater, one of Athens premiere Rock and Roll clubs.
I'm preparing an audio engineering curriculum for a certificate program and I hope to open an audio training school, The Production Institute very soon.
At UGA I am the Technical Director for Campus Life and I supervise two full time staff members and a large staff of student employees. I'm responsible for the production of all major events on campus. I support a wide range of educational and student ethnic programs, commencement ceremonies, large scale entertainment events and concerts. I train professional and student staff, manage resources and develop the operational budgets for my areas in the department.
I have a small local/web business providing a full range of audio services including studio recording, design & installation, consultation and audio mastering.

As the Technical Director for Campus Life I am responsible for the production of entertainment, educational and cultural programs in venues ranging up to 90,000 seats. I supervise two full time staff members and a large student staff. I also supervise contract labor and IATSE stagehands during university productions. I am knowledgeable about all types of audio systems including speaker managment DSP and digital consoles, theatrical and concert lighting design, rigging and flying systems and the safety procedures associated with the operation of these systems. I'm responsible for negotiating with vendors as well as supervision and oversight of the design and setup of their staging, lighting, sets, backdrops and the audio/video playback systems.
Working within the Department of Campus Life, I co-administer an annual operational budget of $500,000.00 for the Facilities and Services area. I'm responsible for writing monthly and year-end reports and budget amendments.

I operated the digital audio devices and special FX light show for sports and entertainment events held in the 11,000 seat UGA Stegman Coliseum. I utilized a moving light system consisting of a Jands Hog500 controller, 6 Cyberlights, 6 XSpots and 4 Lycian 2K Spotlights. I “call” the show cues for sound, lights and pyro. I scheduled and supervised 8 spotlight operators and 2 audio technicians and was responsible for the maintenance and programming of the lights.
