The workflow consisted of the migration of data across 11 logical, interface steps which was the proposed solution by Bearing Point to their customer. The technology involved was to use Oracle as the database platform to support the data layer of the solution and Web Methods to initiate the transaction and migration of data over a secured network. There were a series of business rules that were captured in multiple sessions with the customer. These requirements were translated into system requirements to support database level coding using procedures, functions and triggers for implementation of the business rules.

Mr. Singh supported the BRIO environment by taking on the role as the application administrator to manage access, groups, roles, and privileges of users. The BRIO environment was web-based that was supported by an Oracle 8 infrastructure. Mr. Singh developed the table structure and relationships in the Oracle database to support the technical requirements of the reports. This included the development of custom PL/SQL code to validate the integrity of the data in the system, data migration, codes for event based actions, and automate the transfer of data using Mercator.

    Mr. Singh is leading the most high profile project for SRA at GAO. This project is a multi-million dollar project that has high visibility to the Chief Administrator Officer, Deputy Chief Administrator Officer, Chief Human Capital Officer, Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer, and the Chief Information Officer at GAO. Mr. Singh meet’s with these high profile executives on a weekly basis representing SRA on this major project. The project involves GAO optimizing their current configuration of HR Connect which is a Government off the Shelf (GOTS) product from the Department of Treasury, shared-service provider and center of excellence. HR Connect is built on a PeopleSoft platform that is used to manage the entire lifecycle of human capital functions for Federal Human Resources. Mr. Singh’s duty as project manager includes project planning, resource tasking, client interaction, and reporting. Mr. Singh is responsible in delivering process analysis, system architecture and planning, data integrity of human capital data, fit-gap analysis, training, and implementation of employee self service, and management self services modules utilizing contractor resources.

    Mr. Singh is currently leading a team of three developers and one business analyst in incrementally designing, developing and implementing several datamarts using Kimball methodology to support GAO’s data warehouse strategy. The success of the project would allow GAO’s senior management to use Pentaho to answer business questions across the different business functional areas within the agency. The project has high visibility and the major stakeholder for the project is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of GAO. We are working with the business stakeholders in defining the facts and conformed dimensions of the financial, engagement, and human capital data to support the star schema data model design that would allow for better analysis and reporting. The team will also build ETL data mappings using Pentaho Data Integration to automate the transfer of data from source to target systems and apply the necessary transformations to the data elements. The developers will be using Java and web services to code the front-end interface for management to interact with the data using a web browser. Mr. Singh will also be hands on in using Pentaho’s thin client applications: Interactive Reports, Analyzer, and Dashboard Designer to support business intelligence solution designs.
