Initially served in various health delivery program management capacities within the Florida Dept of Health & Rehabilitative Services, County Public Health Department in Tallahassee, FL and the Bureau of Allied Lines, Florida Department of Insurance in 1986.

Over the next 11 years, as Director of Case Management and VP Operations, Controller, and Chief Financial Officer for Equicor, CIGNA and the Health Services Group, respectively,

Upon joining SAS in 1998, Richard’s efforts were directed toward working to improve knowledge management within healthcare. He identified improving analytics for the shift to electronic medical records, the disease management process, detection & prevention of fraudulent claims, provider performance reporting & profiling, consumer driven health plan analytics and customer profitability intelligence as key SAS focus areas for this sector. Richard most recently was invited to present at HP’s 2005 & 2007 Global Healthcare Summit, HFMA’s Spring Summit 2006 addressing “Quality Metric Collaboration – How Payers and Providers can Jointly Contribute to CDHP Portals”, the NHCAA 2005-2007 Training Institutes and the 4th Annual SOA/DMAA Predictive Modeling Seminar in April 2007 and directed a public web cast series “Predictive Analytics for Health Care” for SAS.

Richard joined MedeAnalytics in February 2009 to leverage his experience in leading edge solutions and industry expertise to enhance the delivery and use of ihealthcare intelligence offerings available to healthcare arena.
