I owned a full service IT consulting company from 1984 to 2000 before selling it to a local competitor. My role in the firm was Principal/Project Manager. I ran over 50 ERP & Infrastructure projects during my tenure at the company. We were recognized by D&T as a Fast 50 company in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

Bassett Computer Systems (BCS) was a full service IT consulting company that I owned from 1984 to 2000 before selling it to a local competitor.
BCS specialized in outsourced Information Technology for our 350 active clients. Our focus included selling and supporting ERP, CRM, Infrastructure and Help Desk solutions.
My role in the firm was Principal/Project Manager. During my tenure I had the pleasure of running over 50 major ERP, CRM & Infrastructure projects.
We were recognized by Deloitte & Touche as a Fast 50 company in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Our annual sales were just over $2M and our headcount was 12 when the company was sold in Aug 2000.

Programmed in Basic-2 on the Wang 2200 in the The Office Manager (TOM) accounting system, which is where I first gained appreciation for relational databases.
The authors of TOM developed an innovative computer software product, first called the "TOM Utilities" and later renamed to "SPEED", which used structured programming techniques and subroutine calls to produce a design environment that facilitated custom software development using the Basic-2 language on Wang 2200 series mini-computers. The SPEED product, which we now refer to as SPEED I, is purported to be an acronym for "Subroutines and Programs for Efficient Economic Development".
