Interactive Project Manager and Internet Marketer
Greater Atlanta Area
Starting in July 2006 I started a company with my business partner Chris Davis. We had a successful run for about two years.
My company slowed pace after that. It was initially successful due to the contacts I had made through my original clients. Unfortunately it could not sustain itself on the original network of contacts I had built. My least favorite part of running my own business was sales, so once my contacts began to run dry I decided it was time to transition my career.
My partner started working at AirTight Design as a programmer and within a few months he informed me they needed a project manager. Since my interest was waning in growing my own business (but I still desired to stay in the web industry) I saw this as a perfect opportunity and now I am a project manager at AirTight.
Before July 2006, I worked in the nursery industry. I was hired as a "tech guy" due to my computer knowledge. I was given the opportunity to watch a start up business grow from the early stages and helped grow the business myself by implementing an online outlet for the business's plants.
My passion grew from web site design to Internet marketing in that period of time. Most of my computer skills are self taught. I also have a formal education in business.
I thrive in creative environments and am self managed. My passion is working to help small businesses grow.

July 2008 — Present (1 year 5 months)
Becoming a project manager was a pretty natural transition from being an entrepreneur because that is basically what my main role was in my own company.
I now enjoy my position as an Interactive Project Manager at AirTight Design. It's a larger company than mine, but still small enough to cut out the corporate environment that I wanted to avoid when I graduated college. My day-to-day consists of directing the work for the day, communicating with clients and quality assurance on any projects. Sometimes I'll even help update a client's website.
Although my primary job at AirTight is a project manager, I occasionally join the owner of AirTight on sales calls so I can get a good overall feel for the project and pitch my secondary skill set; Internet Marketing. I help new and current clients optimize their websites for search engines, discuss advertising options, such as Google Adwords, & come up with an Internet marketing plan to drive traffic to their websites.

I ran my own Internet Design and Marketing firm for a little over two years with my business partner Chris Davis. We had a good run and it helped me build my skills in the Internet industry.

From 2000 to 2006 I was the webmaster for a small plant nursery in Vista, California. I designed and built the retail and wholesale websites for this company. I managed the online sales and also worked on marketing projects. I became familiar with pay-per-click advertising and search engine optimization.

I graduated in 2005. I received the project of distinction award for my final group marketing project. We were asked to design a survey for a digital signage company, implement it in their vendors stores, analyze the data and present it to the business department.
