Mgr., Knowledge Sharing at Honeywell
Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area
My Honeywell career has followed the rise of the micro-computer and the world wide web. Back in the 1980's I started Honeywell's computer training program. In the 1990's I built some of Honeywell's first internal and external web services, and now in the new century after having built Honeywell's eLearning and virtual library portal, I am focusing upon knowledge collaboration / sharing tools for Honeywell. In summation, I am trying to build the "virtual water cooler"! Some of my recent projects include the creation of internal engineering blogs, wikis, a social network / tagging engine, and a technology podcast. On most of these same systems I also have extensive content development and product admin knowledge.
Linking to my professional interests, I help build schools in rural China. Learn more via this url: http://econtent.typepad.com/econtent/run_for_china/
I am an expert and Greenbelt certified in knowledge management. As opposed to using high priced tools, my approach is to find user friendly, practical low cost resources that may be quickly adopted by the Honeywell user community.
