My mantra: "Energize . . . Empower . . . Motivate . . . Act."
When all is said and done, I'm a Coach. I established my professional reputation as a marketing/advertising/web evangelist in many major corporations over the past 20 years. Now I am business' go-to-guy for advice and guidance.
Now on to you . . . any of this sound familiar?
I hate my job but . . .
- I’ve invested so much money to get where I am,
- I’ve put so many years building my current career,
- I’ve given up so much of my life to get this far,
- I’ve sacrificed my family, friends, health…my body,
- I’ve been doing it for so long, I don’t know how to do anything else,
- I don’t want to be poor or have to start at the bottom,
- Everyone respects my position, power and reputation,
Blah, blah, blah…
How long have you been fabricating these excuses for not doing what makes you come alive?
Know what that sucking sound in the back of your mind is? The one that’s been following you around and growing louder with each passing year?
When was the last time you woke up so in love with what you did that you couldn’t wait to get to work? When was the last time you actually found yourself deeply engaged by your work, immersed in projects and relationships that were meaningful, truly significant and, well, fun?
I wonder how different your life would be if you found a way to earn a living that filled both your heart and your bank account. Sound impossible? It’s not.
I’ve been in both places and I can tell you, no matter how much money I made as an executive, it didn’t compare to the high of loving what I do now, being there to get my sons ready for school every morning and eat dinner with them and my wife every night…and still making a great living.
So, my question is — if you could find a way to make a great living, but liberate your career for the rest of the life…would you want in?
