Yad Ezra opened its doors in 1990 to provide free kosher food and other necessities to low-income families in the metro Detroit area. An independent agency that relies entirely on individual contributions for its funding, Yad Ezra currently serves more than 1,600 families (representing over 3,600 individuals) every month in addition to one time families we support. Last year, Yad Ezra distributed more than 850,000 pounds of groceries to client families. Revenue raised at this year’s event will be used to support Yad Ezra’s Lunch Assistance Program that provides hot, nutritious lunches for hundreds of day school children from low income families.
