Richard Bernier’s Summary

As the Reference and Electronic Services Librarian at Rose Hulman, I wear many hats on a regular basis and have been given the opportunity to venture into a wide variety of projects and areas of specialization. I manage subscriptions, licensing and access to all electronic resources, manage the library website, provide technical support to the library staff, and provide reference service for all subject areas with heavy emphasis in engineering and the sciences. My area of specialty is green engineering, renewable energy and sustainability. I am also the project manager of the Rose-Hulman Digital Archives Project which is a member of the Wabash Valley Visions and Voices project. I have published in Library Hi-Tech News, the American Society of Engineering Education Annual Conference Proceedings and wrote over fifty entries for the Encyclopedia of Louisville while a graduate student in history. My proudest scholarly work is my history master’s thesis, “White Activists in the Louisville, Kentucky Open Housing Movement, 1962-1967” A Master’s Thesis Submitted to the Graduate School of the University of Louisville in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements of the Degree of Master of Arts, 1998.
