Rianne Hill Soriano’s Summary
For the past four years, I have been doing freelance directing works for independent/corporate/commercial productions while working as a freelance film writer and a part-time film educator as well. For the past five years, my films have been in exhibition/competition in various local and international film festivals.
I am a fellow/trainee of the Asian Film Professionals Training Program of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) in 2008. I shot my latest film “Technophilia” (16mm, narrative) in Korea during my stay in Seoul through the help of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), and Korea University (KU). My first short film “Karsel” (35mm, narrative) received the Kodak Film Award and Best Production Thesis 2003 at the University of the Philippines Film Institute (UPFI). It was also nominated for Gawad Urian Best Short Film Award 2003. I produced my second film “Aninag” (35mm, narrative) and my third film “Pera-perahang Lata” (HD, narrative) through film grants from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
I have directed AVPs and TV commercials for various clients as Hallmark Philippines, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Tuldok Animation Studios, Lifestyles/Intra, Caritas, etc.
Having a freelance director status, I also shoot for other production houses other than Colorwheel.
Being a director, writer, producer, and production artist, I have promoted a thriving collaboration of remarkable artists working within my sphere. Production work is a true fulfillment. And as life moves on, it is a realization of dreams and goals through unending learning and experiencing…
