Jonathan Rey’s Summary
I started in January 2005 to develop a java application to copy songs from iPod to computer as I was 17 after the class.
When I realized the huge amount of people needing my solution, I started to sell in through a website. Then, I worked as a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) at IDIAP, Martigny. I was there as a trainee for one year. It was a great experience to work in a research institute; it gave me a lot of ideas for the future. Then I started HEIG-VD in Yverdon, and next to my studies, I continued developing xTremSoft on my free time and I also worked as a web developer for Iomedia S.A in Lausanne.
At the end of my first year in Yverdon, I had the opportunity to study abroad as ERASMUS student. I couldn't miss that opportunity.
Now I'm close to the end of my bachelor degree, I have to do a bachelor work in a company. Then, I will maybe start a Master program, but I still need to decide which one.

I sold during about 4 years software for iPod. These software were able to backup iPod music. I did everything in the "company": marketing, software development in JAVA, Search engine optimization, after sale support... With the money earned I paid my studies. In may 2008 I started to collaborate with my competitor because I couldn’t compete anymore, developing software for new iPod generation like iPod Touch or iPhone takes huge amount of time and then after 6 months collaborating, I resold the company to my competitors in January 2009.

ERASMUS exchange student for one year. I planned to stay in Espoo, Finland for 10 months (a whole academic year) in this university, but after one semester I went back to Switzerland and continued my degree in Yverdon because EVTEK did not correspond to what I expected from an university. However, it was a great experience, I improved my English, met interesting people and travelled in new countries.
